Commitment:

Participating in the HAVC program requires a commitment of time and effort from each individual.  HAVC demands strong dedication to teamwork, personal and team skill development, good sportsmanship and respect of others at all times.  Athletes participating in the HAVC will be noticed not only for what their talents and skill on the court, but also by the manner in which they conduct themselves off the court.

Club Goals:

Houston Attackers Volleyball Club (HAVC) will provide and build on the fundamental skills players need in order to be successful as a team and compete at higher levels.  We will develop in each athlete a positive attitude toward teammates, coaches, opponents, referees and parents.

HAVC is committed to providing a highly competitive environment to prepare players to compete at any level.  Not only are fundamental skills imperative, but attitude also.  Many high school coaches look at the players response to criticism and desire to learn.  HAVC wants to emphasize these skills and provide players with a realistic sense of competing at the higher level.  Communication is important between players, coaches and parents.  However, HAVC emphasizes the coach/player communication.  We encourage players to ask questions and handle any problems with the coach.  Parents do not need to address coaches unless the situation cannot be resolved between player and coach.  This is developing real life skills for application in high school and the real world.

With our coaches, staff, parents, and players working together, we will achieve all of our goals.

Players wishing to be a part of the HAVC experience should:

·         Possess a great attitude

·         Have a desire to learn

·         Set goals to become a better all-round player

·         Make a commitment to team, practice & tournaments

·         Give 110% + to practices & tournaments.

Parents and players who are a part of the HAVC experience will:

·         Possess a great attitude

·         Understand, Appreciate, and Commit to the HAVC Mission, Commitment, and Goals

·         Desire to be a part of and participate in a team-based organization
